The tranquil and beautiful River Wensum runs through the Wensum Valley from West Norfolk, through the Wensum Valley Hotel grounds, to the centre of Norwich. Set within a landscape boasting with wildlife and carefully managed by the Wensum Valley Trust, the River Wensum provides a lovely and quiet canoeing experience.
If you are interested in rare birds and wildlife, the Norfolk Broads can provide you with the ultimate nature experience. With species such as otters and kingfishers, the network of rivers, lakes and canals making up Britain’s largest protected wetland is easily explored by canoe. Dotted along the Broads are a number of picturesque and historic villages where you can stop to explore by foot or go for a bite to eat.
Wensum Valley has a number of 2 seater canoes and 1 seater kayaks available for day hire. At a cost of £20.00 per boat, our canoes and kayaks can be used to explore the River Wensum and surrounding areas for up to 5 hours. Hire of life jackets is also included.
